The third generation MR2 Spyder was introduced to the us market in
2000 and aimed to adhere to the mission of the original model. The
MR2 Spyder chief engineer Harunori Shiratori said, "First, we
wanted true driver enjoyment, blending good movement, low inertia
and lightweight. Then, a long wheelbase to achieve high stability
and fresh new styling; a mid-engine design to create excellent
handling and steering without the weight of the engine up front; a
body structure as simple as possible to allow for easy customizing,
and low cost to the consumer." The car featured an all aluminum
1.8L 1ZZ engine that produced 138hp and came mated to a 5-speed
manual transmission.

Toyota MR2. With near perfect weight distribution and a rev happy
engine, this little spyder is a hoot to drive. Finished in a
classic shade of black over black leather, this car is overall very
nice. There are a few stone chips and marks on the body but its
rust and rot free and spent most if its life in a garage. The
exterior is very understated and features "midship runabout" badges
and 15in alloy wheels with Dunlop tires. The black manual soft top
is in great shape. The interior is very nice and sporty and
features a clean dashboard and black leather seats. The seats are
in great shape apart from a small tear on the passenger seat. While
a minimalist sports car, it still has power windows, power locks,
air conditioning, machined pedals, audio system, and twin air
bags.
