GT500, with its supercharged V8, track-tuned suspension and
razor-sharp appearance, is a perfect example of why that

APPEARANCE
Complementing smooth Black Clearcoat 2-stage with tasteful Tungsten
stripes, this spotless Mustang has spent the majority of its life
parked in dry storage. Thanks to that shelter, and a noted aversion
to rain and wintry weather, the car's second and most recent owner
maintained factory-fresh aesthetics that would be right at home in
a dealer's showroom. According to CARFAX, those aesthetics are 100%
straight with no history of accidents or damage of any kind. And a
close look down this Ford's sculpted fuselage reveals world-class
finishing!
In typical Shelby Mustang fashion, the nouveau GT500 looks tailored
and substantial in comparison to 'lesser' competitors. At the front
of the car, a familiar Mustang grille hangs an offset Cobra emblem
between bright headlights, a small splitter and a sculpted valance
that's complete with traditional fog lamps. At the top of that

POWER
The reborn GT500 celebrated one of the most successful partnerships
in performance car history. Take a look under this Mustang's
bulging hood and you'll find a blown 'mod motor' that was heavily
influenced by Ford's own GT super car. And what's better: by
utilizing a cast iron block, aluminum heads, forged internals and
dual overhead cams, this rowdy torque monster makes great power
while mixing surprising efficiency with docile manners. Twist the
key and the big V8 rumbles to life, breathing through a Steeda air
box, a factory X-pipe, throaty Ford mufflers and polished stainless
tips. Goose the throttle and an Eaton roots-style supercharger
utilizes a proven Steeda pulley to create gobs of rich boost.
Deliver one serious jab to the go-pedal, and you'll find out why
dictionaries are starting to list the name "Carroll Shelby" under
the word "performance"! Aesthetically, this Ford's spotless bay
looks assembly line-fresh, eschewing the kind flash you'd expect
from such a pedigreed car for, dare I say, a bit of a 'sleeper'
vibe. But to anyone who knows anything about performance, the big
blower and stylish "POWERED BY SVT" coil covers are a dead giveaway
that they're looking at something real special!
POWER MANAGEMENT
As most performance car fans already know, this Mustang's SVT-tuned
chassis is nothing short of excellent. Behind the smooth engine, a
slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed spins power to an 8.8-inch
limited-slip axle that's finished with friendly, 3.31 gears. At the
corners of the car, power-assisted Brembo calipers join
power-assisted Ford calipers in squeezing big, vented rotors. Turns
come courtesy of Ford's super-efficient power rack-and-pinion
steering. Naturally, Ford's standard ABS and traction control
systems are present and accounted for. And all that first-class
agility rolls on stylish SVT kicks, which twist 255/45ZR18 Goodyear
Eagle F1s in front of 285/40ZR18 Goodyear Eagle F1s.
COMFORT
Inside this Ford, 2-tone, Cobra-branded seats, which feature
standard power adjustment for the car's driver, ride opposite a
monochromatic, leather-wrapped steering wheel that's adorned with
convenient thumb buttons. The dash is a familiar Mustang layout
that frames sweeping telemetry next to a glowing Carroll Shelby
signature. Below the dash, an optional Shaker 1000 stereo, complete
with a 6-disc CD changer, leads an impressive console that's
fashioned around a short shifter. Beneath that console, rich carpet
flows past metal-trimmed foot pedals and color-keyed floor mats to
snazzy SVT sills. And naturally, all the luxuries you'd expect in a
