For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet C/K 20 in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

This is a super nice '69 C-20 Custom Camper 3/4 ton long bed that spent its whole life in a dry, rust free climate. I bought it from a local gentleman here in the Atlanta, GA area who has owned it for 4 years. He bought it from Paso Robles, CA where it is believed to have spent most, if not all its years prior to him. He was told it was pretty much a farm truck that the guy used to get from one side of his property to the other primarily. The farmer eventually traded it in on...get this...a Volvo. The guy I bought it from drove it quite a bit putting 13,000 miles on it in a little under 4 years and he loved driving it. Unfortunately, his daughters expensive college tuition and her need for a car in Colorado meant he needed to sell his toy. Sad for him, but lucky for the next owner....maybe you??!!

The body is extremely solid and straight overall with no rust issues!!! It was repainted one time probably 15 years ago or so in the original Olive Green metallic color. They painted the whole truck this color, however originally the roof was the off-white color. Overall the paint job is pretty darn nice. The hood has some slight oxidation that might buff out nicely. I have not tried buffing the paint out at all yet but overall it looks really good. A few minor blems so do not expect a show truck, but this C-20 will still get you all the thumbs up and will be a fun one to take to the cruise-ins and local shows. The bed was professionally lined with Linex and there is a really nice locking Kobalt tool box installed. He did not have the keys to the utility doors but a locksmith could take care of that. He had originally intended on locating an original camper top and having some fun adventures with the wife but she was not on board with that idea so he just drove it as often as he could.

Interior looks very nice overall. Door panels look like they could be original. Previous owner had a green vinyl seat cover installed and the bench seat feels pretty firm and comfy. The build sheet shows it originally ha a green cloth interior. All of the gauges and lights appear to working correctly. A tach was added on the column. I believe it has the original steering wheel which has some normal signs of age and discoloration. Original AM Radio still works with speaker in the dash and then he added a unit under the dash that you can plug your phone or ipod in to for music or your phone with speakers in the front kick panels.

This is an original 350 V-8 truck but the original motor was changed out for a crate 350 some years ago. The previous owner was not sure how many miles are on the motor. It is possible that the odometer was set to 0 at time the motor was installed which means it has just under 72,000 miles on it. Or, very good possibility that the total mileage on the truck is just under 72,000 miles and the crate motor has much less on it. It runs out really strong regardless and has been super reliable. Power steering handles nicely and manual brakes were redone about 12k miles ago. Previous owner also put new shocks, tie rod bearings, and other suspension components on the truck. He replaced the battery, put new fuel lines and other general maintenance to make sure it was a reliable truck for him. The original 4-speed floor shifter goes through the gears nicely and this truck pulls strong and tracks down the road nicely. The undercarriage is rock solid and I did not do anything to doll it up so that you can see how nice and original it is. This would be an easy truck to take to the next level if desired but is a great driver just the way it sits. Nice set of 8-lug wheels with good set of radials with plenty of tread life left.
