These Choo-Choo El Caminos are highly desirable and hard to come
by. The original El Camino SS was produced by Choo-Choo Customs for
GM from mid-1983 until the El Camino series was discontinued at the
end of 1987. In addition to the aerodynamic nose treatment that was
the primary styling feature of all El Camino SSs, all vehicles
received graphics on the fascia, doors and tailgate. All Choo-Choo
Customs El Camino SS's were "final assembled" at Choo-Choo Customs,
Inc's., headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Choo-Choo
Customs, Inc., El Camino SS model was available through any
Chevrolet dealership from 1983 through 1987. The "Choo-Choo SS" was
an appearance package only. Unlike earlier Chevrolet Super Sport
models, no performance enhancements were made to the production
Choo-Choo SS models. This 1987 is one of only 861 that were
manufactured during the final year of the Choo-Choo Customs'
production run of El Caminos, and it is still in great shape, with
what is believed to be only 64000 original miles. Starting with the
clean white exterior and its black graphics, to its nearly new
Cooper Cobra radials wrapped around the 15" Rallye wheels with
simulated chrome knock-off spinner, this is one sporty looking
truck. Moving inside, one finds the maroon cloth interior to be in
great shape, with the very functional split bench seat and
carpeting looking barely used. Its JVC AM/FM/CD head unit with
detachable face plate puts out sound that is far better than what
it had from the factory radio in 1987. Get in, get comfortable,
fire up the 4BBL-equipped 305 CID V8, slide it into drive, and head
out. The exhaust has a nice rumble through the new stainless-steel
exhaust, and the transmission shifts smoothly as you ease down the
road in style. You'll certainly get lots of admiring glances while
you're driving this last-of-breed Choo-Choo El Caminos! Options on
