3.6 liter flat six engine
6-speed manual transmission
With 993 production ending in 1998, the C2S represents some of the
best of the best Porsche 993 parts combined. Wide turbo bodywork,
6-speed manual transmission, and power sent to the rear wheels from
the 3.6 liter flat six, the 1998 993 C2S was the culmination and
final hooray for the rear-wheel drive and air-cooled
masterpiece.
Originally purchased in Florida by its first owner on October 13th,
1997, this 993 would stay in Florida only for a few years before it
first appeared in Los Altos on April 19th, 2000. When it arrived in
Los Altos, it would mark the path of the 993 and would remain in
California from then on.
On April 15th, 2002, Eric Romelfinger would have a front chassis
brace installed on the 993. Shortly afterwards on May 9th, 2002, he
would decide that it was time to make the C2S sportier, having
Ken's Sportech, Inc. of Campbell, CA install H&R lowering
springs along with new shocks. In 2003, he ordered a complete
wheelset from RUF along with their required spacers to the tune of
$3,802. Topping off the 993, Eric ordered a Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust
in January of 2004 for almost $1,200, adding a bit of extra volume
to the already visceral sounding flat six engine.
In July of 2005, the C2S would see itself being acquired by a new
owner, Sandor Kovacs of Santa Cruz. Once in his possession, he
would take the car and have general maintenance done, including a
new clutch, a full oil change, a brake pad change, stainless steel
brake lines and RS motor mounts. In October of 2006, he would take
the car to Finish Line Interiors of Santa Clara, CA for interior
work. A full custom leather interior and carpet was made and
installed to the tune of about $8,000, while the custom sound
system will truly impress with over $10,000 invested. Upon arriving
at Canepa, the C2S was thoroughly looked over, with its subtle
upgrades and stunning interior clearly showing the level of
commitment and appreciation for the car. With mechanical upgrades
that accent the already astounding performance, as well upgrades
that make the already enjoyable interior even more comfortable,
this 1998 Porsche 993 C2S tastefully modded for the driver in
mind.
