1963 Chrysler New Yorker 4-door sedan
ESTATE SALE: Price reduced to allow for prompt closing of estate. The owner was a car enthusiast. He was planning to fix it up and show it, but he died before that could be done.
This is an eye catching car in remarkably fine original condition. In 1963 it was the epitome of luxury. The seats need to be reupholstered, but otherwise the car is good to go. Everything works except the clock – even the AM radio. The dash exemplifies modern design in 1963. There are four almost new whitewall tires, with another one in the trunk that appears to have never been on the ground.
The 413 cid V8 runs beautifully when driving, with some roughness at idle. The odometer shows 89557 miles. There is even a personalized California license plate: “63 NYKR.”
The interior features an elegant turquoise and silver color combination, and along with the squared-off steering wheel that was unique to Chrysler. The push button transmission shifts smoothly, although there is some slack in the driveline that is apparent when shifting from reverse to drive.
On the road this car has lots of pep, and gets attention wherever it goes.
