Long list of other new items under the hood...water pump, fuel pump, alternator, electronic ignition, plugs, wires, etc. The car is now estimated to produce over 300 hp and 400 torque, 10:1 compression (factory specs for 1972 were 250 hp/375 torque, 8.5:1 compression). Fully serviced original THM 400 transmission and 3.07 rear end gear for smooth highway cruising. Factory dual exhaust. Newer shocks and brakes. New AC compressor and converted to R134 freon. All new fluids and filters. Acceleration, handling, and braking are smooth, strong, and tight.
BODY/PAINT
Very rust-free frame and body, repainted several years ago in original factory correct Champagne Gold. Still glossy with just a few minor knicks. Original black vinyl top in nice condition, no pulls or tears. Original chrome bumpers still shiny. Very good stainless trim, grille, badging, and glass. All windows roll up and down easily. Original 15-inch chrome Rally Wheels are good with some very minor surface rust here and there. Tires appear to have about 70% tread. Trunk clean with original felt carpet intact. Original jack and fifth Rally Wheel spare.
INTERIOR
Original dash, door panels, seats, headliner, package tray, and interior trim are 8 of 10. No cracks or tears. Rare special order Roulet Grain expanded vinyl sewing pattern on the seats. Power bench seat fully functional in all directions. All seat belts and buckles are still jet black, excellent condition. Original carpet is below average, soiled. New cut pile carpet would really make the interior pop and cheap to do. All dash controls, signals, lights, environmental controls, and Sonomatic AM radio are functional. Clock is not. The additional oil/temp/voltage gauge shown in photo is just resting in the open ash tray, so no dash cuts were done.
I have owned six Rivieras and can tell you this one stands out in performance and clean original finishes. Car runs very strong and quiet with no squeaks or rattles inside or out. With a few inexpensive cosmetic touches like carpet, weather stripping, and minor touch-up paint, you will have a Boat Tail easily valued in the $20k range. PRICE IS FIRM.
