Following the 1980 model redesign, 1981 Corvettes featured spoilers
integrated into both the front and rear bumpers. Other than being
aesthetically pleasing, the new design resulted in increased
aerodynamics, as well as improved air flow into the radiator. Air
conditioning, power windows, exterior sport mirrors,
tilt-telescopic steering wheel, and federally mandated 85 mph
speedometers were all standard options on the Corvette for this
year. Under the hood is the tried-and-true 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8.
Features unique for this model year include cast magnesium valve
covers, a chrome air cleaner lid, and auxiliary electric fan setup.
Stainless steel exhaust manifolds and the Chevrolet Computer
Command Control system (first introduced on California-compliant
Corvettes in 1980) were also standard. 1980 Corvettes also featured
fiberglass rear leaf springs, a first for the model. This
particular example wears a two-tone white and gray paint scheme, is
equipped with gray leather bucket seats, a center console,
tachometer, aftermarket AM/FM radio, simulated wood trim on the
console/dash, rear defroster, 15" aluminum Rally wheels,
mirrored/tempered glass T-tops, tinted glass, and an automatic
