Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is excited to offer this outstanding
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Custom. This frame off restoration has
only 8,120 miles on it since the complete rebuild and is ready to
fill your garage with trophies. This 1970 two door post Cutlass S
was purchased from the original owner in Arizona and treated to a
complete frame off restoration in Illinois. The frame was powder
coted, a complete suspension rebuild was accomplished using poly
bushings in all areas where they were needed. Two-inch drop
spindles were added to achieve the desired stance and disc brakes
were bolted in place for the proper stopping power. Body work and
modifications included total stripping of the paint, shaving the
door handles, adding a ram air hood and rear deck lid spoiler,
replacing the stock rear bumper, custom painting and air brushing
of the body side trim and ghost painting over 1,000 tasteful
star/rocket symbols slightly seen on the hood and body of the car.
Body work was performed by John Dornik Auto Body of Oglesby,
Illinois and the custom paint was applied by The Custom Shop in
Flanagan, Illinois. The Color of choice was Glasruit and PPG Viper
Blue and GM White Pearl with a blue tint. The 455 motor was rebuilt
with forged pistons, Edelbrock carburetor, intake, aluminum
cylinder heads and camshaft kit. Next a Becool radiator was
installed along with billet MSD distributor with a MSD box. Hooker
supplied the exhaust in which was all thermal coated. The Turbo 400
transmission was replaced with a Hurst shifted turbo 200 4R
overdrive unit which allows for lower RPM highway driving. The 2.56
OEM rear gear was replaced with a 3.42 POSI unit to give the Olds
more low-end power. J and B Microfinish fabricated a polished,
ball-milled battery cover and hammered and rolled an A/C compressor
cover shroud out of aluminum sheet stock. The custom interior was
installed in Oklahoma by Coachwork and includes bucket seats,
center console, unique door panels and package tray. J and B
Microfinish fabricated a one-off billet, ball-milled dash inserts
and console top, with a brushed finish. Billet door handles and
window cranks finish out the interior. A CD/DVD/MP3 played was
hidden In the glove box and a Sony X plod amp is in the custom
