1955 Chevy Custom 3100 Series Pickup
History
One of the most iconic trucks of the early 50s was the 1955
Chevrolet 3100 Series. The 1955 second series offered standard
options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, the first
V8, and fleet-side six-, seven-, and eight-foot length beds.
Boasting V-8 power, automatic transmission, many paint options, and
deluxe interior, the 1955 Chevrolet Cameo shortened the distance
between car and truck. The 1955 set the stage for other
stylish trucks, such as the Ford Styleside, the Dodge Sweptside,
and Chevy's own Fleetside which quickly followed suit.
Why This Car Is Special
This 1955 Chevrolet Pickup we have at Skyway Classics has been
extensively customized and features brilliant orange paint, a plush
custom tan interior, Chevy TPI engine, and a great new wood
bed.
This is one of the premier restorations and custom 1955 Chevy
Pickups in the country. The owner has stated that the body on this
truck was found at a GM warehouse and had NEVER been put on another
truck or painted!
Mechanical
Under the hood is a clean and shiny 350 CI small-block TPI V-8. The
power plant has highly polished a intake, valve covers, and air
cleaner, Serpentine belt system, wire looms, air conditioning, and
a higher capacity radiator and cooling system. Power from the
engine is sent to the rear tires through a G.M. 4L60E transmission
and the 10-bolt 8 �" Positraction differential. This custom 1955
rides upon a custom chassis with modified front and rear
suspension, and new shocks.
Interior
The interior of the custom truck is virtually unmatched. Custom
plush tan leather seats are accented by matching door-panel inserts
and carpets, a custom instrument panel with performance gauges,
body colored matching painted dash, chrome billet tilt steering
column with tan leather wrapped steering wheel, chrome turn signal
stem, chrome shifter, and Air Conditioning.
Exterior
The chrome work is exceptional as is the flawless paint and body
work flowing back to the tan bed cover with the gorgeous wood bed
underneath.
Our 1955 Chevy Truck rides on Boss Motorsports 22" Custom Chrome
wheels and performance 265/35/22 tires, and has the stance and
exhaust note to back it up.
