Vehicle Description
If you're looking for a rare, classic drop-top Caddy, look no
further. This 1961 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz 2-Door Convertible is
one of only 1,450 produced. It has just come out of local
collection and remains in amazing original condition. The car is
finished in factory original Olympic White (code 12) with a white
soft top (code 1) over an original Blue trim (code 13) interior.
And the 6367 code on the cowl tag indicates this Series 62 Cadillac
is a true, limited production Eldorado Biarritz. This car retailed
at $7,401 in 1961. In comparison, the fastest production car of the
era was the 1966 Corvette, and that sold for only $4,084.
Basically, a Cadillac in those days was equivalent to a Bentley
today.
This fourth generation Eldorado is powered by Cadillac's
390ci/325hp 4bbl V8 mated to a 4-Speed Hydramatic transmission with
rear wheel drive. The car fires on command, runs well, and shifts
smooth - great car for a weekend cruise or a summer drive-in. Plus,
for $7,500 in 1961, you got plenty of amenities: six power windows,
power convertible top, power brakes, power steering, air
conditioning, power locks, power seats, power trunk release and
even a headlight dimmer on the dashboard. These cars were loaded
with luxury, which is why they were priced higher than the fast
cars of that era.
This is an awesome Cadillac with very few still on the road. You
can't replicate the classic body lines and huge back fins. Take the
family out in style. Be sure to check out all the photos and video
