The 1931 Series 355A was longer and lower than its predecessor the 353 Series. It also had a longer hood with five hood ports and matching doors in the cowl. For the first time, the floor boards were made of metal and the battery and tool compartment were under the front seat. The instrument panel was oval but the same gauge groupings remained as in the Series 353. The Series 353 featured dual horns, a single bar bumper, a radiator screen plus a new frame with divergent side rails. The suspension springs had metal coverings and the radiator was mounted lower in the frame with a condenser tank for cooling. The engine is the same 353 cubic inch L-head V8 as in the Series 353 with a 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission.
This car in in excellent driving condition. Although not a fresh restoration, this car has been nurtured and is ready for any C.C.C.A. tour. Its dual windshield will protect its rear seat passengers from any inclement weather conditions. It has a new top and boot and a complete set of side curtains are included. The Fleetwood body is comfortable and roomy. Driver and passenger wind wings are not only stylish but enhance touring comfort. The twin side mounted tires with chrome covers look great. Pilot ray lights are accessories that set this Cadillac above the rest. When new, this Cadillac had a retail price of over $3,000 compared to a Model A Ford at roughly $500.
