1961 MBZ 180b Fully restored. Strong engine, paint taken down to
bare metal. All new interior including German $65/yard carpet,
sound proofing material all over the car, German carpet floormats,
all new seals, brush moldings, all gauges new/reconditioned, all
new wiring harness. Classic radio. Brakes overhauled, new
electronic ignition, all new chrome, tires, wheels. Every thing was
taken off the car, and replaced with new. Most parts were from MBZ
Classic Center, and other MBZ German car parts suppliers as well as
used parts. Reconditioned fuel tank with sending unit. Radio
operated clock per instructions on the MBZ Ponton.org web site.
Radiator was completely rebuilt. All mechanical work performed by
Tony at Tony's German Auto. New exhaust and the list just goes on.
All paperwork and receipts and hundreds of pictures. Car had been
changed to white, so the original birth card was obtained from MBZ
Classic Center, and thru the restoration, the cream/ivory color was
actually discovered under multiple coats of paint. ALL paint was
taken off including the door jams. No powder coating, just
painstaking removal of paint with sand paper and paint remover.
Car belonged to a family member who purchased from Germany and was
taken to Middle East. Have a photo when I was 6 yrs old (50 yrs
ago) of the car. It has sentimental value. I restored the car in
2012-2014 time frame. Some very expensive yet tasteful
customization was done such as the Stainless steel trim on the sill
plates when you open the front doors, as well as lighting and other
automations. Car just received new water pump, rebuilt carb, new
radiator flush.
The car is advertised thru Laguna Classic Cars but this is a
consignment vehicle and it's stored in an indoor facility in Laguna
Beach. Transaction will be done thru the dealer but it can be
handled as a private party sale as well. If you are serious buyer,
then please contact me for an appointment to show you the car.
It'll need some work on the heater boxes, but that's about it.
