The Jaguar Mark V made its debut at the Jaguar booth during the London Motor Show in October 1948. While the XK120 also debuted at the same event, keen Jaguar customers appreciated the styling that was reminiscent of the Mark IV that came before. A new 120” wheelbase chassis, torsion bar suspension and 4-wheel hydraulic brakes provided vast improvements. Styling choices were reserved for the 4 door saloon and incredibly stylish Drophead Coupe with a three position cabriolet top. Offered with either the 2½ or the 3½ liter inline engine, the Mark V proved to be a popular model for Jaguar until production ended in 1951, despite its limited build numbers.
