MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1957 Chevrolet
Bel-Air sedan that is a true factory Bel-Air with its factory FC
code 283 CID V8 engine and four barrel carb. This example was made
in Chevrolet's Fairfax factory in Kansas City, Kansas during the
first week of January 1957. It was delivered to Lipp Chevrolet
Company in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Finished in its correct Onyx Black,
(code 793), the car's paint and trim are in overall good condition
but there are a couple of blemishes visible at various exterior
points, please see the photos for further review. The wipers are
inoperable, the windshield has a crack on the passenger side, a
chip in the rear window but its lights are intact and clear. The
car rides on new Coker Classic wide whitewall tires, size 7.50-14
at all four corners. Factory spinner' wheel covers cap the steel
wheels and are in good shape for their age. This Bel-Air's body
panels are complete and all of the correct trim is present, the
trunk interior is in good order, complete with its original jack
and new full-sized spare tire, its bumpers look fantastic, the
engine bay is tidy and the battery looks newer. In that engine bay
is the factory FC coded 283 CID V-8 engine (F404FC) with a
four-barrel carburetor, its original air cleaner housing and
breathing through new dual exhausts. Backing up that motor is a
Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55:1 rear end.
Inside, the correct red and black interior (code 669) looks great
overall but has a few minor blemishes. The red and black cloth and
vinyl bench seats are in very good order, as is the black carpeting
with its contrasting red floormats. The headliner is in fair
condition, with blemishes visible on the passenger side C-pillar.
The fuel gauge is inoperable but the red metal instrument panel
looks great and resonates with the design themes popular at that
time. The original two-spoke steering wheel with its metal horn
ring has great patina and the inner door panel, mirror glass and
gear selector are all in good order. Completing the interior is a
factory AM radio. The 1957 Bel-Air is among the most recognizable
American cars of all time; well-maintained examples are highly
sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are roomy, with
tastefully restrained, period use tail fins and chrome. Competition
to this Chevrolet in 1957 included Dodge's Coronet four-door sedan,
Ford's Custom Fordor Sedan, Hudson's Hornet four-door sedan, Nash's
Rambler Custom four-door hardtop and Oldsmobile's Super 88 Holiday
four-door sedan. Documentation includes original owner's manual.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis,
Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 99,745 miles. It is
sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
