Vehicle Description
Greeting the present day looking refreshingly straight and clean,
this 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is a member of the class that closed
out the long-standing second generation of the universally
respected muscle car. After more than 35 years of service, it still
has a very bright future ahead of it, with a strong running
condition that combines with its '80s flair to make it a great
acquisition for the classic Chevy enthusiast.
With its blue metallic paint shining bright and a trio of gold
striped decals running along its sides, this Chevy would be a
fitting time capsule entrant for '80s styling. The paint is very
close to its original shade and is both deep and flashy at the same
time and provides a great backdrop for all the ornamentation
sitting below. You'll find prominent vents on its front fenders and
a smoothly contoured scoop on its hood and, unlike so many other
models before and since, both are fully functional - the vents do a
fine job of dissipating heat out of the engine compartment, and the
scoop helps supply the engine with cool, dense air for better
performance. Step around to the front and you'll see the black
louvres sitting both above and below the bumper are nice and level
and the air dam underneath shows no signs of having been run
aground. Follow the sloping, fastback-styled roofline down to the
edge of the deck lid and you can see the prominent spoiler lines up
well with the panels that surround it. This is one well-aligned,
road-ready classic.
You won't find many interiors that can both evoke nostalgia and
impress with their condition like the tan cloth example you'll find
inside the doors. It's been left in its original configuration, and
features a pair of high-backed, camel-colored buckets that are
really comfortable, with surfaces that don't show much sign of wear
and radiate an undeniable '80s vibe. They straddle a supple-looking
center console that's also in very clean condition and provides
some welcome storage space, as well as a perfect place to rest an
elbow while driving. Peer through the stock Z28 steering wheel and
you'll see that the gauges sitting in the rectangular silver
instrument cluster are all still easily readable and everything
else residing in the dash area looks convincingly fresh and sits
securely in place. The air conditioning is in top form and is
plenty capable of keeping you and your passengers comfortable on
even the hottest day, and the AM/FM/cassette player is joined by
USB and Auxiliary jacks in the middle of the console for more
modern audio options.
Featuring a strong running 350 V8, this Camaro is no mere piece of
memorabilia best left at rest in a garage - it's fully up to the
demands of frequent driving. Surrounded by fresh hoses and carrying
a new air cleaner on top, it's fed cold air supplied by the
induction scoop sitting above and starts up promptly and pulls with
conviction while exhaling out of its stock headers. A 3-speed
automatic transmission, power front disc brakes, and and smooth
power steering combine to provide the road manners well-suited for
modern driving conditions and the solid-looking undercarriage below
is downright impressive. This Chevy muscle car classic sits on a
set of 15" iron Z28 rims that are wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A
radials.
Looking and running great, this 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is a
smile inducing tribute to a bygone era. Call today!
