Vehicle Description
This is one of the most unique cars ever to pass through our
showroom because it is completely original car with less than 7000
miles on it. If you ever wanted to see, touch, and feel what a 1939
Mercury was like in 1939 this car is it! The car was sold at the
Barrett-Jackson Auction in 1994 and the mileage was only 4700 when
sold to the last owner in May 2004.The Town Sedan has been very
well maintained and is completely operational and functional. The
engine runs absolutely perfectly as does the transmission and
clutch. The dash board gauges all operate perfectly, as does the
heater, wipers, blinkers, lights, and horn. Seat belts have been
added as has an electric fuel pump to ease starting. The paint is
the original paint and is in good condition with some areas showing
fading from age, the chrome is also in good condition. The interior
condition is excellent for a 79 year old car. The original leather
interior is soft and has no rips or tears, the headliner looks
perfect, the carpeting does show its age but is serviceable. The
glass is in very good condition and all windows go up and down
perfectly.
The sound of the doors shutting is a solid "thunk", like a
vault!
The Mercury drives extremely well, it is smooth, tight and
luxurious. Here is a video test drive:
