Vehicle Description
This hot looking convertible recently finished a 6 month
restoration including performance mechanical rebuild. Obviously
it's a sharp looker so I'll tell you about the mechanics first:
The 455 was bored .30 over, has forged pistons, plasma rings,
hardened pushrods, roller rockers and a street competition cam.
Aluminum Edelbrock heads and intake with a Holley 750 carb jetted
to match. Also has MSD ignition. The Ceramic coated headers flow to
a stainless exhaust with Flo Pac mufflers. The motor is kept cool
with new oversized aluminum radiator and HD fan.
Underneath: Upgraded to a turbo 400 trans rebuilt with shift kit,
2500 stall Corvette torque converter and trans cooler. Has correct
dipstick, speedo gears and kick down. A balanced driveshaft
connects to the 3.73 posi.
Upfront it is converted to disc brakes, new booster and master. New
wheel bearings. New steering box, pump and hoses. Front end is
rebuilt and upgraded with Hotchkis tubular control arms. In back it
has Hotchkis boxed control arms, sway bar and synthetic bushings
and Eibach progressive rate springs. There is a new fuel tank,
sender and stainless lines.
Now back to its appearance. It wont win a concourse award but it
might win people's choice! It sure is outstanding with the Saturn
yellow paint and GSX stripes. Chrome is bright, windshield and
weatherstrips are replaced. New German cloth top with glass window
and New weatherstrips. Interior is nice, it has some nice features-
tilt deluxe wheel, bucket seats console and more. Trunk compartment
is painted. Motor compartment is painted and cleaned. This is a
head turning convertible built to drive!
