1998 Harley-Davidson FXDWG Wide Glide
History
The Harley-Davidson Super Glide/Wide Glide is a motorcycle model
made by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Reputed to be the first
factory custom motorcycle, it originated Harley's FX series of
motorcycles by mating Sportster components, most notably the front
end, with the chassis of their larger big twin motorcycles.
Why This Bike Is Special
The 1998 Harley-Davidson FXDWG Wide Glide we have at Skyway
Classics is another popular model in a Big Twin line first
introduced in 1980.
As in its predecessors, the tall 21-inch spoked front wheel rolls
between the namesake wide-set, raked-back forks. Forward foot
controls lend a long, lean look to the chassis, and combined with
the "ape hanger" handlebars, give the rider a natural laid-back
posture.
A posh seat and ergonomic handlebars make the Harley-Davidson FXDWG
a comfortable ride.
A deeply stepped saddle provides ample comfort for both the rider
and passenger, a welcome feature since the 5.2-gallon Fat Bob tank
can carry the Wide Glide a long way between fuel stops.
The engine in our Harley is the 2 cylinder 4-stroke, 45 V-twin
that has a displacement of 1338 mm with 56.56 horsepower @ 5000
rpm. It has a 5-speed gear box ad a Final Drive belt.
The Harley has a beautiful color combination of blue over cream
with a lot of options such as
custom leather hand grips, rear view mirrors with wide angle lens,
luggage rack, Harley Screamin Eagle exhaust, driver heel rest,
passenger floor boards, passenger back rest, crash bar with highway
pegs, windshield, windshield tool bag, and lots of aftermarket
chrome.
Our Glide also has included in the sale a Kendon Big Bike trailer,
bike cover, saddle bags, and a travel bag.
