Offered here is a classic and collector-worthy 1968 Mercedes-Benz
280S 4-Door Sedan. With its brother 280SL Pagoda gaining
increasingly high marks, the 280S sedan offers the same powerplant,
yet with a fixed roof and four doors. Four doors to accommodate the
whole family on a timeless cruise.
This car came out of collection in Traverse City, Michigan. It was
restored in factory original Dark Green over a restored Cognac
Tex/Mex interior. The fit and finish on the body coupled with the
neat upgraded interior really set this 280S apart. It is powered by
the original Mercedes 2.8L Inline 6-cylinder motor mated with a
3-speed automatic transmission, column shifted with rear-wheel
drive. With its top to bottom condition and drivability, we believe
the 73k miles to be original. It has just had a tune-up with new
tires installed. No rust and ready for a new garage.
This is a gorgeous 280-Class Mercedes at a very reasonable asking
price. It will not disappoint. It starts on command and run smooth.
