1972 Chevrolet K20 Pickup Truck
1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne K20 4×4. The 1967-72 C/K series
trucks are the most coveted trucks in America largely because,
unlike any of their peers, they can be used as daily drivers
without hesitation. The 1972 truck is the most coveted of all. This
top of the line ?72 K20 Cheyenne is no exception.
Starting as a solid Arizona 1972 Chevy. This K20 is everything you
want when looking for a restored K20. It comes from a dry Arizona
climate and retains its original floor pans, cab corners, and
rockers, which is rare for this model truck. The frame rails are in
excellent condition as well. The Body was stripped down, blocked
and painted on frame to the factory color code except for the added
GM white stripe. The color combination on this truck is absolutely
stunning. On the outside, all trim and moldings have been replaced
along with the marker lights, parking lights, taillights, grill,
grill shell, both bumpers, brackets, and emblems.
On the inside the truck you will see new window seals, door weather
stripping, gaskets, locks and hardware. The interior was completely
removed and replaced. Dynamat was installed along with sound
deadener under the carpet and behind the seat. The dash was rebuilt
with a new gauge bezels, instrument cluster and tachometer. All
gauges, switches and levers work. Additional features include tilt
wheel, and stereo, new carpet, new matching door panels, headliner,
and new great looking Cheyenne seats.
Under the hood the truck sports a powerful, reliable Chevy 350,
believed to be the original motor. The motor was rebuilt using all
high quality, fully balanced internals. Even the carb is the
era-correct Quadra Jet. The starter, alternator, battery, water and
fuel pumps are new, along with the belts and hoses. The
transmission is a performance Automatic unit from Hughes, the
differentials are the stock factory matched 3.73.1 ratio setup. The
208 transfer case was resealed. New disk brakes and booster unit
were added as well. The A/C unit was replaced along with the heater
core. An R134 conversion unit was fitted to the new compressor.
Also new are the air-conditioning condenser, hoses and expansion
valve. The vent and dual hoses are all new as well.
Air-conditioning blows cold.
This K20 suspension is factory and components have been replaced as
needed. The power steering gearbox has been replaced so it drives
nice and tight just like a new car. This is absolutely one of the
nicest K20s around.
