1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Vehicle Identification Number: 124871N553387
Purchased new by an employee at Plattsburg Chevrolet in Plattsburg
New York, this 1971 Camaro stayed in the same family until 2011. In
2008, the car was treated to a frame off restoration with
some of the work being done at the same New York dealership where
the car was originally purchased! Everything has been
restored/completed just as it left the factory. The body
work and paint are excellent (almost certainly better than when the
car left the factory!). Extra Special care was taken to make
sure every component is period correct. This car is a real treat to
drive. It handles as well or better than a modern car and
pulls strong through all of the gears. You will be thrilled
with this beautiful Z28.
ENGINE: The engine bay was meticulously restored and has its
correct 330 HP 350 engine. The casting # ’s for the block are
3970010, the heads are 3973487 and are date coded Z28. It has
the rare, 1971 model year only, dual feed Holly Carburetor that
came with the car.
DRIVE TRAIN: It has a smooth shifting rebuilt Turbo 400 with a
Shift kit and 3.73 gearing with period correct traction bars. The
Car originally came with 4:11 rear end gears but the restorer
elected to go with a higher 3:73 gear combination for lower rpms
during highway driving.
EXTERIOR: Painted in silver with black stripes the paint on this
Camaro is in excellent condition. Body panels and all bright work
are very straight.
INTERIOR: The interior is factory correct with correct high back
seats and center consol. Interior is in excellent condition with
new seats and carpet but still utilizes the original headliner door
cards and dash. All gauges, controls, heater, radio, windows as
well as the clock operate as they should.
Auction Estimate: $38,000-$41,000
