backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. This example features;
original rear suicide doors, lowered ride height, dual exhaust,
wide white tires with Cadillac wheel covers, rear fender skirts,
original style grille, shaved trim, chrome front and rear bumpers,
stock split windshield, 3-piece rear window, and original AM
radio.The '49 Merc was a true postwar design coming from Mercury.
Almost everything about the car changed from the 1948 model year.
It had more pronounced swooping body lines, was sleeker, wider
lower, and a had a whole new front end. Mercury no longer used Ford
designs with a different badge as they finally found their own
style. The car was so popular that it sold around 300,000 units,
