Vehicle Description
Full sized cars with muscle are great. They can roll with the
mid-sized and pony cars on the street, and unless you line them up
and time a run, you won't notice the difference. But, your friends
and family will. They will gladly jump in the back seat of this car
for a cruise through town or to cruise on out of town for some fun,
because it's comfortable back there! Check out this numbers
matching, 327, Impala Custom.
This car looks great in Plum with some chrome and a black vinyl
roof. The front bumper cuts across the middle of an egg crate grill
with an Impala Super Sport emblem that reaches toward the ground
and runs side to side. Dual headlights on each side offer plenty of
light, and the ends of the bumper blend vertically with the lines
of the fenders. The front fenders have an arcing crease on the top
edge that runs back and ends on the door with Impala emblems and a
327 badge on them. The rear fenders arc more dramatically, starting
just behind the door. There is a chrome lip on the wheel wells and
a strip of it along the rocker. The rear bumper has triple
taillights set into it, and Impala badging appears again on the
trunk lid. The black vinyl roof adds a look of maturity and class
to the car, and it sits nicely on steel wheels with chrome trim
rings.
Open the door and you will find a comfortable and spacious interior
meant for driving. The door panel has a big long armrest so you can
relax and get comfortable. All the seat covers as well as the
headliner look new. The front buckets tilt forward for easy access
to the back seat that is so spacious and comfortable that it's like
sitting on your living room couch. The original three spoke
steering wheel shows its age, but if it could talk, it would surely
be able to tell some stories. The dash has a horizontal speedometer
across the top with the ignition and some accessory controls in a
panel below it. Heat and A/C controls are at the top of the center
console with an AM/FM radio below them. A horseshoe shifter for the
automatic trans dominates the center console and looks good doing
it. There is a Super Sport badge above the glove box on the
passenger side.
Sitting comfortably under the hood, you will find the numbers
matching 327 that came with this car. It has an Edelbrock chrome
air filter housing and Edelbrock 4-bbl carb handling the fuel
mixing duties. The rest of the engine is stock with signs of good
maintenance evident in the newer looking radiator, new alternator,
new hoses, plugs, cap and wires. Power is sent back through a
3-speed automatic to the 10-bolt rear end. The rear suspension is a
multi-link set up with coils and helper springs that offers a great
ride for those long trips you can comfortably take in this car. The
front suspension is a control arm set up with a sway bar. Power
front disc brakes handle the stopping duties and the car and the
rubber meets the road through 235/75R15s in the rear, and
235/60R15s in the front.
Come on down and check out this Impala 327 with plenty of power and
plenty of room to head out for some adventures in. Then take it
home, load it up and do it!
