Vehicle Description
In 2008, Chevrolet's flagship Corvette was chosen as the pace car
for the annual Indy 500 for a record 12th time. To commemorate this
achievement, Chevrolet produced a very limited 500 models that were
pace car replicas. This option brought the Z51 handling package,
Z06 style spoiler, dual mode exhaust, forged chrome wheels, Indy
500 seat embroidery and each car was numbered and signed by Emerson
Fittipaldi.
This beautiful example still bears the authentic autograph of
Emerson Fittipaldi, and is #346 of only 500 units produced.
However, it is one of ONLY 77 COUPES produced with the 6 speed
manual transmission, making this car a VERY RARE SPECIMEN! Quick
observers will obviously see the bright green pace car decal has
been removed from the vehicle to create a slick black paint scheme
with green accents.
Loaded with virtually every option, this two-owner LT3 Corvette was
originally sold new in Danbury, Connecticut before transferring
ownership to the current owner in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This Corvette comes equipped with a 6.2L LS3 V8 that has small
additions that include a ported throttle body, haltech cold air
induction, oil catch can, Hotchkis sway bars, pfadt brushed
stainless steel headers, 3 inch pipes with high flow cats that
still work the dual mode exhaust, and finally a custom dyno tune by
PCM of Mooresville, NC that shows today the car makes 426 rear
wheel horsepower.
The sale includes the original window sticker, receipts that
document the mileage and a removable clear top that was a $750
factory option.
It's not too often that you find a modern collectible, yet here it
sits. Don't miss your chance to own this beauty!
