1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 2 door hardtop. āZā code 390 4V 300 HP Thunderbird V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes.
Father time has been kind to our 64 XL having traveled only 71,000 miles since new and cared for by only one family.
Francis potter bought the car new from Stenger Ford in Dayton Ohio in 1964. He drove the car sparingly in nice weather until he passed away in 1991. The car would be cared for by his wife Loma until 2001 when his son Frank became the caretaker. Frank is available to tell the story if anyone is interested in speaking to him.
The XL still retains 100% of the original black vinyl upholstery and it is in excellent condition. The black vinyl top is also original and beautiful.
Although never having any body repair from collision or rust damage the 64 was treated to an extremely high-quality professional repaint a few years ago. The paint color is a beautiful turquoise ford called pagoda green. Brightwork on the XL remains brilliant as do the factory flipper hubcaps.
The car is a turn key driver with everything functioning as expected and is in great mechanical condition as well preserved and maintained as possible.
