Vehicle Description
One of the most recognizable cars ever produced, Mini production
started in 1959 and was an instant success. It's transverse engine,
front-wheel drive layout influenced a generation of car-makers and
became one of the best selling cars in Europe. The UK subcompact
developed into several different versions, including: A wagon, a
pick up truck, and of course the Mini Cooper. With all four wheels
"pushed out" to the far corners of the vehicle, interior space was
maximized and wide stance was achieved. This gives the car
excellent balance and tremendous handling capabilities. The
transverse engine planted over the front wheels provides excellent
traction and grip.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very tidy 1978 Austin
Mini, left hand drive example, for world consideration. The car is
powered by professionally prepared 1275cc engine, 4 speed manual
transmission and front wheel drive. It is presented in Red exterior
paint, white stripes with white roof over Saddle interior. Features
included dual carbs, 10 inch JRC wheels, Smiths Gauges, wood dash,
Sun Supertach, etc. The car has been owned by the same auto
enthusiast for close to 20 years and kept as part of his
collection. It has been driven a few times / year and has been
routinely looked after. The paint although not original, is quite
old and still shows very well. The car posses an excellent
structure as the underside remains in original and shows very nice.
Mechanically, this car has plenty of spunk and is a complete blast
to drive. The engine is strong, the transmission shifts smooth,
clutch feels good (no slip, no chatter), the car handles excellent
and brakes straight.

small package. Quality examples such as the car offered here will
not last long on our floor.
