I have had a hard time saying "no" when a friend asks if I wish to buy their old car. Dear neighbors in Mt. Lake Park, MD had this Cadillac since it was almost new. About 4 years or so ago the gentleman had reached 96 years of age and could no longer drive. His wife asked if I would like the Cadillac (see first sentence) and here it is. About 5 months later, dementia presented itself, and I took the car back (I maintained ownership) and put it in their garage so he could see it every day and sit in it if he wished. This went on for about a year, then it didn't matter anymore and I have had it ever since. There is a piece of trim on the front bumper that I need to re-install and a piece missing from the trim on the rear bumper. Other than that. it's been a garage kept, well maintained car. It has a new set of Vogues with less than 1,500 miles on them. Everything works as it should except for the radio. I sent the whole thing to "Factory stereo" or something like that to have it fixed. After $50. worth of postage they couldn't fix it. So, the radio and concerns are in a box in the trunk. The interior is about perfect with (3) exceptions; on both front seats, in the exact same spot, a piece of hardware under the upholstery has rubbed a hole in the side panel vinyl. These holes are smaller than the diameter of a small marble. The 3rd imperfection is a very small split on the driver's edge of the dash - the corner that pokes out at one as you are seated in the car. I just had the front end aligned and the garage did not straighten the steering wheel to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to get in this car and drive cross country.
