For Sale: 1973 Dodge Challenger in College Station, Texas

Vehicle Description

1973 Dodge Challenger - Price reduced to $26,000

I have owned the car for 10 years and enjoyed it immensely.  I originally built the car to be a daily driver but as a worked on it and invested in it, it became much more of a show car for me.  I built it to be fun to drive.

The paint is absolutely stunning! It is B5 bright blue metallic with a very deep clear coat. I also added the black stripe from a 1971 Challenger which set off the colors perfectly.

Every part of the car has been gone through to include the differential which is now a 355 ratio Detroit locker. The transmission was changed to a 727 with a shift kit coupled to a 440 which was built by Faerman engines. I have the dynamometer report for the engine rebuild and run in. The engine pushes the exhaust through a 3 inch dual exhaust system coupled with Dyna Max exhaust mufflers for a rich deep sound when you get on it but a milder trumpet tone for cruising.

As a show car you will always walk away with at least a trophy or plaque from a car show. It is always well received by the attendees. I am a huge Mopar fan and know of no other cars that have the same stance and aggressive appearance that just looks fast, that the Challenger does. I have shown the car at Autorama in Houston and took third place in my category which I’m very proud of.

Some more details on the engine include an Edelbrock cam with a healthy idle, 440 source aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake manifold, and a Holly four barrel 750 CFM carburetor. I also added the Mopar performance optical sensor distributor driving a MSD spark control unit which was a huge boost for performance during construction. The dynamometer report indicates 500 foot-pounds of torque and 400 hp. Coupled with the Detroit locker 355 rear end ratios the car is very quick with plenty of torque to get you in trouble.

The interior is mostly original with the seat covers added by the previous owner along with new headliner. The dash is not cracked and is in pristine condition. The car is originally an AC car and still has the air handling unit plumbed for AC. I have not installed the R134 compressor system since the last engine installation but those parts are included in the sale.

If you have a serious interest email me and we can discuss.  If you are a tire kicker and looking for a test drive, please do not waste my time.  I am asking $30,000 for the car which is a fair price.  I have dropped the asking price to $26,000.
