Vehicle Description
A great coordinated color theme, iconic big block power, and some
nice upgrades (like an overdrive transmission) come together to
make this 1961 Chevrolet Impala a very cool cruiser.
Yes, this is the iconic and rare bubble top Impala. While all are
considered desirable because this was only offered for a few short
years, the 1961 coupe is arguably the best of the bunch. That
skinny c-pillar and wraparound rear window is truly spectacular.
Glossy red is a terrific color to instantly grab attention on a
classic coupe. The streak of white running down the side makes this
look positively sporty (and if you like it here, just check out the
interior!) Of course, no '60s machine would be complete without
great bright work. Not only does the investment in new wraparound
chrome bumpers look fantastic, but all the intricate trim is
complete, too. We especially love it on the full-length sweeping
side piece that starts at the headlights, frames the cool white
streak, and then continues to the rear where it helps create the
distinctive dipping "V" trunk - a feature you could only find in
'61.
The pillar-less hardtop setup allows people to get a good view
inside, and that's going to make you extra happy. As hinted at
before, the interior follows the same red and white color scheme as
the exterior to give you the look a fully coordinated classic. You
not only get this on the seats, headliner, and door panels, but
even the steering wheel follows this factory-correct two-tone
interior! Because this is meant to be a true cruiser, you get great
upgrades like the detachable arm rest center console with cup
holders, a VDO tachometer mounted on the steering column, and a
vintage-style AM/FM stereo with digital tuner.
Under the hood is the unmistakable appearance of the first big
block from Chevy. The 348 cubic-inch V8 is appropriate for an
Impala like this, and so it's great to have this legend here. Plus,
we know you love how the orange block, bright valve covers, and
matching air topper all just seem to radiate power from inside that
dark engine bay. Plus, you even get the extra power of a
four-barrel carburetor. This helps deliver a nice rhythmic rumble
from the side pipes as the torquey V8 moves this cruising coupe
with ease. Speaking of enjoying the drive, the upgrade to a 700R4
four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and
modern BF Goodrich T/As on American Racing wheels makes this a fine
anytime classic.
This icon looks great and drives great, which is exactly why you
know it's a great deal. Don't miss out, call today!
