1971 Chevelle SS Tribute
History
Some of the meanest and most revered muscle cars to ever come out
of the Chevrolet Motor Division in the 60s and 70s were the SS
Chevelles.
The standard Chevelle SS engine was a two-barrel 350-cubic-inch V8
rated at 245 gross horsepower. Optional was a four-barrel
carbureted version of the 350 V8 rated at 275 gross horsepower, 402
cid big-block engine at 300 gross horsepower, and the LS5 454 V8
that produced 365 gross horsepower with cowl induction and louder
exhaust system.

modified big block motor, great interior, and great running gear

Mechanical
Let's start off with the Big Block Chevy motor dropped into the
immaculate engine bay. It has many internal high performance parts
including hotter cam and kit, aluminum intake, performance carb,
headers, MSD ignition system, and more.
It is decked out with a factory air cleaner, chrome valve covers,
spark plug wire looms, a Wildwood Power Disc Brake system, and even
air conditioning for you comfort level. The power is thrust to the
Posi rear end via a Hurst shifter and white shifter ball.
Interior
The all black stock appearing interior carries out the all black
look with its black bucket seats, seat belts, rear seats, center
console, door panels, dash, and floor mats which have all been
restored or replaced. The dash is great and housing all the gauges
and stereo radio system and it steers with a chrome and padded
steering wheel.
Exterior
Our 1971 Chevelle has the all black paint look as we mentioned
earlier on its great styling that includes the classic Chevelle
look with large Power-Beam single-unit headlights, a reworked
grille and bumper, and integral park/signal/marker lights. New dual
round taillights were integral with the back bumper. The Cowl
Induction hood and the SS emblems really set it off too.
