The E36 M3 CSL Lightweight were originally delivered from the
factory with major weight reductions including No Radio, No Air
Conditioning, reduced weight Manual Seats wrapped in Hurricane
Black Cloth, No Sunroof, No Tool Kit, Aluminum Door Skins, reduced
carpeting and limited sound insulation. Mechanical Changes include
a stiffer Sport Suspension, 3.23:1 Ratio Limited Slip Differential,
and an ECU programming change to remove the Top Speed Limiter.
These M3's are considered to be the Rarest of the late model M3's.
Even the M50 B30 3.0-Liter engine was handpicked by the BMW
engineers. Reportedly, production engines were tested, and only
those with the best performance numbers found their way into the M3
Lightweight. Between 8/95-10/95 BMW, Individual produced about 125
of these M3's. M3 Lightweights received the cosmetic appearance
package that includes: Alpine White exterior with Motorsport flag
decals on the Left Front and Right Rear corners, Lightweight 17"
Stamped Forged Alloy Wheels with 235/40R17 tires and Rear Spoiler.
Prior to delivery, each LTW was equipped with a GT Trunk Kit which
included Rear Deck GT Spoiler, undercarriage X-Brace,
increased-capacity Oil Pan with dual-pickup Oil Pump and a Legal
Agreement stating that installation of any of the kit parts voided
BMWs New Vehicle Warranty.
WBSBF9321SEH07523 was sold new through Reeves Import Motorcars of
Tampa, Florida to a Mr. Diaz-Estrada of nearby Brandon, FL. The M3
would reside under single ownership until late 2014, when it
transferred hands to the Midwest. Today, the car remains
beautifully preserved, totally original and unmodified, with just
20,250 documented miles. It retains all factory applied
identification decals (bonnet, trunk, doors and engine bay), glass,
paint work and upholstery. A very special feature includes seven
signatures on the underside of the trunk lid from:
Tom Purvis - Chairman and CEO of BMW North America
David Donohue #06 - BMW Team Racer
Bill Auberlan - BMW Team Racer - Has driven BMW cars in more races
than any other driver in the world.
Tom Milner - BMW Racing Team, Prototype Technology Group
Pete Halsmer #07 - BMW Team Racer
Dieter Quester - Legendary BMW Racer
Boris Said #10 - BMW Team Racer, BMW of Murrieta
The CSL is complete and accompanied by all original matching books,
cards and vouchers in folio, emergency light, removable AC
Schnitzer pedals, spare tire, supplemental low-profile wing in its
original box (with VIN matched packing slip to the original owner),
as well as a letter from Prototype Technology Group, Inc. with
installation instructions for the supplied "competition" parts.
A February 2018 service and multi-point inspection was performed by
BMW of West Houston to ensure lasting drivability. We offer this
