Vehicle Description
With its exterior modded for a timeless appearance and original big
block power holding court in its engine bay, this 1976 Chevrolet
Silverado C10 is not only a sturdy vintage truck filled with more
than its share of nostalgic appeal, it's also a smooth running ride
that's ready to provide miles of dependable service in an
attention-getting package for its next lucky owner.
Its exterior strikes a nice visual balance, with a look that
effectively blends local car show flash with modded vintage charm.
Its dark blue metallic shade is a good fit for this classic
workhorse, a nice deep color carrying a good shine that's
ornamented with pinstriping that provides a custom, aftermarket
look without detracting from its rugged identity. Up front, the
billet front grille and vented hood are certainly
attention-grabbers, with the grille level and blemish free between
a pair of LED headlights surrounded by very clean casings. In back,
the lift gate is punctuated by more extensive pinstriping that sits
above a nice stretch of clean chrome, with the modified dual
exhaust emerging just below. This Chevy's stance is lowered to give
it more custom cachet, but still provides the ground clearance
you'd want while navigating everyday driving situations.
Thankfully, a good amount of attention was paid to proper body
alignment during this truck's modification, so despite its custom
look, you'll find no protruding panels or uneven gapping that can
otherwise render opening and shutting doors and hood a chore.
Featuring velour-clad upholstery that began life in an '80s era
Buick Riviera, the interior is as distinctive as it is welcoming.
The bucket seats feature button tuck surfaces and have all the
padding needed to provide comfort during the longer treks, and
their nostalgia-inducing pattern is matched by the snug fitting
headliner above. Sitting just in front of a very nice Grant GT
steering wheel, the dash has been thoroughly refurbished, featuring
its own button tuck covering and a fresh-looking woodgrain panel
insert that surrounds an assortment of clear, easily readable
gauges. There is a nice assortment of comfort features included
that will really come in handy while on the road, including air
conditioning, cruise control, a tilt column, cruise control and
power seats - the latter of which is a welcome option not often
found in trucks of this era. The bed area in back remains clean and
straight, lined with carpeting and featuring a bed cover over the
top whose pattern matches that of the interior.
The show-stopping engine bay beneath that vented hood features an
array of great details. It's a very well-organized and tidy
setting, and inside its pinstriped walls you'll find an impressive
assortment of chrome components. Sitting at its center is the same
454 cubic inch V8 this venerable truck began life with, and it
continues to represent itself well, carrying an Edelbrock 4-barrel
carb on top, firing right up and running smoothly. It's paired with
a 3-speed automatic transmission that offers secure, slip-free
shifting. Power brakes - with discs up front - as well as power
steering are two more features that add to the easy-driving
streetability of this pickup, which rides on a set of 17" Intro
wheels, wrapped with Goodyear Eagle tires.
