I purchased this 1968 Impala Custom Coupe with 77,600 miles in 2012 from an estate sale by the family of the original owner. The gentleman who purchased it new took great pride in keeping it in tip top shape. It has never been smoked in. From 2007 to 2012 the car was kept in storage with no sunlight to deteriorate its beautiful condition. I have enjoyed this gem over the past 5 1/2 years, attending parades and car shows. It always receives positive looks and comments - Fun to Drive!
The car was re-sprayed the original color and some minor body work done in 2005, so now sports a nice finish with bright color. The black vinyl top (original) is in excellent condition - not faded. Interior is all original and excellent condition. Carpet and headliner are like new. All gauges work as of this writing. Trunk has the original mat and I have an original set of GM keys. In the glove box is the operator's manual and metal protecto plates provided when new. Tires show very good tread on the original wheels. Chevy wheel covers on all four wheels.
There is a small rough area above the right rear fender (see picture). Overall a very straight body with all chrome and a bright paint finish. Runs and drives smooth. Current mileage is 78,662. This is a rare survivor auto that has had lots of TLC and is having its 50th Birthday this year!
