After leaving the Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart factory in March of 1993, it was invoiced to Mercedes-Benz North America and then shipped to Foreign Motors West, INC. in Natick MA where it sold to its first owner on December 20, 1993 at a cost of $81,700. The car then moved to Miami Florida some time in 1998 where it lived until the second owner purchased the car and finally moved it to Southern CA where it has been for many years covering only 20,290 miles from brand new. The car has a good service history through the Mercedes-Benz dealership and has always seen the proper care and storage. The original Pearl Black Metallic paint is exceptional and original top to bottom. There are no defects on the car aside from a small scratch on the lower skirt and two small stone chips on the front hood. All of the glass and trim are original with no visible defects. The interior is near new with the exception of two hairline cracks on the wood trim on the lower center console by the passenger heated seat button. The dash is perfect as are the seats and carpets. The Mercedes built M119 5.0 V8 engine was a modern marvel for the car world. Stuffed inside the 124 chassis E-Class, the V8 engine produced 322hp and propelled the 500E to 60mph in under 6 seconds. It has incredible power and pull beautifully through all of the gears. The car has just been service at Mercedes-Benz of Chandler along with a new rear leveling shock. The ride is firm but smooth and free from any issues. The steering is nice and tight with excellent road manners. All of the electronics are operating as designed including the original Becker radio, power antenna and the rear power sunshade and sunroof. All of the original zinc plating and coating is still found on the engine and the undercarriage is spotless. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire one of the lowest mileage 500E’s in existence. Having been built as collaboration between Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, the 124 body 500E is a highlight in Mercedes-Benz rich history. The larger front and rear body skirts and wider body fenders are some of the small touches that differentiate the 500E from its 6 and small 8 cylinder sisters.
