Amazing rotisserie restored J code Road Runner Hemi Hardtop. One
of 169 hardtops built in the Road Runner's first year.
One of 61 with automatic transmission. One of 8 automatics left
known to exist. The infamous Road Runner was introduced in 1968 as
a bare bones, no frills car built to be fast. This entry level
muscle car sold new for about $2,800 with the stock 383 engine or
for about 25% more ($740) you could order it with the famous 426
Hemi engine. Only 161 hardtops were built with this
option.
Rotisserie restored North Carolina car in very rare color code QQ Electric Blue and Black bench seat interior. The underside of this car is amazing! Original block cracked in a freeze. Period correct 426 Hemi replacement block with original head, manifold and valve covers. Original twin 4BBL carbs. Original rebuilt 727 transmission and 8 3/4 rear end. Power steering and brakes. Mostly new and some original chrome & stainless. Detailed engine and trunk compartments. Mint restored undercarriage. New reline radials and painted wheels with dog dish caps.
