This is one of those cars. We understand the restoration was completed in 2012, the first real show entered was the Cape Fear Antique Auto Club of America show in 2015 where it was selected "Best in Show" out of over 600 entries. Yes, this is a special car.In 1964 just 2,999 442 cars were produced. In the context of American car production normally counted in the tens and hundreds of thousands that's an amazingly small number. How many left- who knows but certainly VERY FEW the caliber and provenance of this one. Oldsmobile's answer to the GTO started with the 1964 model and Olds sure followed Pontiac with a real contender. Enough of the grey-haired history lesson let's look at this car.Factory equipped with the B09 package (442 package before it was called the 442 package) this is a NUMBERS MATCHING all correct example. Dare we say PROTECTO PLATE! Yep we sure do. Owner history back to new? Yep. Photos of the car as delivered in New York day one with its original owner? Yep. No worries here this is an investment grade car. Period.The paint on this Olds is truly magnificent. No waves or ripples down the sides or flats, door, hood and trunk fit that is way past what GM typically delivered in 1964. Interior- outstanding, crisp and correct. Mechanicals- truly excellent. For those of you picture studiers in the crowd she is currently running a very clean set of headers but we have the original exhaust manifolds with the car and will gladly install them if the next owner desires. Your choice, a few extra ponies or the single thing that stands in the way of this car being factory correct. Look at the underside- frame- excellent- floors- excellent, rockers excellent. This car is exactly what you'd expect a Best in Show car to look like.
