Vehicle Description
Now for sale at Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is this bad to the
bone 1966 Plymouth Fury. The Plymouth Fury is a model of automobile
which was produced by Plymouth from 1955 to 1989. The Fury was
introduced as a sub-series of the Belvedere but was actually a
level above. Over the years the Fury has bounced between a mid-size
car and a full-size car over the years but this 1966 was definitely
a full-size car. 1965 marked the year that Chrysler returned the
Fury to a full size body and they used the Chrysler C-Body platform
in which to do it. It now had an increased wheelbase of 119 inches
which was an inch longer than before. The C-bodies were upper range
large cars; and, like every Chrysler Corporation car, they had
torsion bar front suspensions and rear leaf springs. The Chrysler
(brand) cars had long hoods to accommodate big block engines, and,
in nearly all cases, standard TorqueFlite automatics. They had a
smooth ride but, thanks to their torsion bar suspensions, handled
better than most, if not all, other large cars. Up front you will
find a meaty 383 CID V8 engine that is more than adequate to push
this beauty down the road. With it's smooth shifting 727
transmission, 3rd member and 3:23 gears, it is gorgeous to drive
and eats up miles really well. The odometer reads 27,604 miles but
it has only covered 4000 miles since it was rebuilt! The car
features a blue Dupont clear 3500 paint job and matching blue vinyl
interior. You will find air conditioning, AM/FM radio, spare tire,
power steering, power seats, power windows, a jack and radial tires
on aluminum alloy wheels! The A/C blows cold and the heat blows hot
too. You will certainly be very happy with this car. Please reach
