My Father purchased this car in April 1978. It received a frame-on restoration which included a fully rebuilt engine and transmission, some body work and new paint & top. The car was on the road by the mid-1980's but work continued a piece at a time as better parts where located.
My parents drove their cars and this one was used for tours of New England, Long Island and many trips around Pennsylvania. The family would pile in and put the top down for trips to local car shows and for ice cream. By the early 2000's the repaint was looking a bit faded and my Father decided to do yet another repaint. All repaints were in the correct Canterbury Green (pastel mint green is the best description).
Mom and Dad are both gone now and I kept the car, continuing to use it just as we had for all those decades. I have driven the car to shows all over and just drive it around town for the joy of it. It is a great car to drive with power top, power windows, power seat, the 317 V8 makes plenty of power and the 4 speed transmission not only shifts well but return decent mileage.
Dad fitted the car with radial tires and auxiliary gauges for temperature and oil pressure. All of which enhance the usability of the car.
In the past six months had the brakes serviced, the fluids changed, some trim repaired and the whole car buffed. The sale price includes a lot of spare parts and the car cover.
I’m selling because I have too many cars and a recently completed restoration project will replace this one in the garage.
