hatch and fuel filler door releases With its sleek styling and
partially hidden headlamps, the Nissan 300ZX made quite a styling
statement when it debuted in 1984. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is
please to present this turbocharged 300ZX, which has been very well
maintained for more than 30 years! This example was made in
Nissan's Hiratsuka Japan factory in March 1984. Dressed in Regatta
Red (code 013), the car's paint and trim are in overall great
condition, with some minor blemishes visible on close inspection.
The glass panels are mostly clear and intact though the windshield
shows blemishes from previous wiper blades. The car's lights are
clear and haze-free and look great overall. This Z's bodywork is
straight and solid, the engine bay is very tidy, the bumpers fit
well to the body and the cargo area is in satisfactory order. This
Z rolls on standard five-spoke, vented alloy wheels surrounded by
P215/60R14 radials at all four corners. The 3.0L SOHC inline
six-cylinder engine was available in early production with a single
Garrett T3 turbocharger and a 7.8:1 compression ratio and
electronic fuel injection. No VG30ET was ever factory equipped with
anintercooleras they were intended for quick throttle response
and featured low boost pressure. Backing up this engine is a Tremec
T-5 five-speed manual transmission. It was
designedforlongitudinal engineautomobiles. It includes
oneoverdrivegear and a light-weight aluminum housing. The T-5 was
originally designed byBorg-Warnerbased on the T-4 and earlier
SR4. Driver convenience features include T-top removable roof
panels, air-conditioning, power rack-and-pinon steering, power
four-wheel disc brakes, rear wiper/washer, rear window defroster
and remote hatchback and fuel filler door releases. Inside, the
car's silver/gray (code G) velour bucket seats are in great overall
condition, while the matching carpet is in similar shape. The
headliner is in satisfactory shape, the two-spoke steering wheel
looks great, however, the horn is inoperable. The instrument panel
and inner door panels are all in very good condition, as is the
center console and gearshift lever. The Z31 chassis designation was
first introduced in 1983 as a 1984 Nissan/Datsun 300ZX (the hatch
lid had both a Datsun and a Nissan badge) in the U.S. market. The
300ZX, as its predecessors, was known as a Nissan in other parts of
the world. This continued in the U.S. until the 1985 model year
when Nissan standardized their brand name worldwide and dropped the
Datsun badge. Designed by Kazumasu Takagi and his team of
developers, the 300ZX improved aerodynamics and increased power
when compared to its predecessor, the280ZX. The newerZ-carhad a
drag coefficient of 0.30 and was powered by Japan's first
mass-producedV-6 engineinstead of aninline six-cylinder.
According toNissan, the V-6 engine was supposed to re-create the
spirit ofthe original Fairlady Z (the car's name in Japan).
Similar to Chrysler'selectronic voice alert, the 1984-1986 Z31 GL
and GLL models featured a female voice warning system which warned
drivers of the following: 1) Doors left ajar while in motion
"Right/Left Door is open," 2) Parking Brake engaged while in motion
"Parking Brake is on," 3) Fuel Levels is low at 2 7/8th gallons
remaining "Fuel Level is Low" and 4) Lights left on with key off
and driver's door opened "Lights are on." Competition to this
Nissan in 1984 included Audi's Quattro, the Avanti II, BMW's 635
CSi, Chevrolet's Corvette, Lotus' Turbo Esprit and Maserati's
Biturbo. This car is currently located at our facility in St.
Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 208,364
miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage
exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!! PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR
