Vehicle Description
This Resto-Mod VW original 21-Window Samba Microbus is finished in
its original Lotus White color, a very limited-production factory
color. The bus was a "barn-find," originally from California, that
underwent a full nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration performed by
world-renowned VW bus restorer Robert "Bob" Cook from Cookers
Restorations. His mission was to build a true "VW Bus Resto-Rod"
maintaining its original unaltered body, frame and interior with
the focus on custom mechanical component upgrades. This bus has
gained worldwide recognition and admiration, being featured in the
U.S. Hot VWs Magazine (cover car) and in France by Super VW
magazine. The build was done with an unlimited budget using the
absolute highest quality of parts available and approximately 1,000
hours of labor dedicated. It has traveled less than 100 miles since
its completion while being proudly shared and displayed at premier
national show events. Some of the key Resto-Mod build details
include an 1835cc performance-built engine with dual 45 mm Dellorto
carbs, Scat rockers, Cima 92 mm pistons/cylinders, CB performance
crank, 041 ported performance cylinder heads and a stainless-steel
performance A1 sidewinder exhaust system. The performance-built
transmission and a Stage 1 clutch kit, along with a 200 mm
lightweight flywheel, were installed. The full custom suspension
was built by Bob Cook, with all upgraded steering and brake
components all sitting on custom 15" chrome Torker rims.
