Vehicle Description

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this very low mileage 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SL is absolutely spectacular condition. This is one of the nicest 560SL's available on the market right now. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now with 1989 being the most rare and desirable model year and this example is priced to sell. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. The very low original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual."

This 560SL looks outstanding, runs great, and is an awesome driver. It comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. The car comes with service records from the most previous owner that are pictured below. Also included with the car are an owners manual, Mercedes first aid kit, tool roll, Mercedes tools, convertible top wrench, original spare tire and rim, jack, and other documents that came with the car new, which are all pictured below. This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful, desirable, and iconic color combination of Smoke Silver (702) over Brazil Brown Leather (273) interior with a Dark Brown (746) convertible soft-top. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data tag by the radiator pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is.

As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Smoke Silver exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The wheels are in great shape with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Goodyear tires have about 90% tread left and are correctly sized 205/65R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL is exceptionally clean underneath. There are absolutely no rust issues at all with this Mercedes. We purchased this car out of Nevada and according to the previous owner it has been a western car so it was never exposed to road salt, harsh winters, or inclement weather. There are also photos included of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

A sticker with this individual Mercedes VIN is present on all the body panels including the hood, trunk, both doors, both front fenders, and both rear fenders. This is another excellent sign of originally and a great car history.

Interior

The Brazil Brown interior of the 560SL looks absolutely fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no tears, rips, or split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical are on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks terrific with no stains, rips, or holes. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The convertible soft top is in good shape with no rips or split seams, and the rear windows are clear with no fogginess or yellowing. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The wood trim looks great with no fading or delamination. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever, obviously no burn marks, and the factory lighter looks brand new and has never been used.

The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim, jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. Please note that the original Mercedes first-aid kit is complete and also still with the car.

The excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This 560SL appears to be in fantastic mechanical condition; everything on the car works and it is ready to be enjoyed. The engine starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well, runs great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.

Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, wipers, and fan. All of the gauges work. The a/c works and blows cold. It has already been converted to the modern style r134a refrigerant. This Mercedes has lots of power with the 5.6 liter engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1989 560SL is in excellent condition and is an excellent value at our asking price. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for the 560SL's from 1988 & 1989 model years, with 1989 being the most desirable and most rare with only 8,251 units produced. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
