For Sale: 1972 Volkswagen Type 3 in Atlanta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this attractive 1972 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback. This VW was a long-term West-coast car; it was sold new in San Mateo, and stayed in California for most of its life before moving to Seattle and then Atlanta in 2015 with the current owner. It was "freshened up" by the previous owner five years ago with new interior, a quality repaint in the correct Kansas Beige and new rubbers and seals throughout - no known rust or accidents (floors are in excellent original and un-restored condition). The 15-inch Dan Gurney stamped aluminum Victory wheels are a nice period touch, along with the always-appropriate roof basket.

All of the mechanical systems have been addressed with newer shocks, ball joints, tune-up, battery, fuel pump, brake master and lines, tires, pedal cluster, throttle linkage and control cables. The original fuel injection has been replaced with reliable dual Solex 32 PDSIT carbs (but original D-Jet components are included in a box). This squareback had a recent engine reseal and all service is up to date. Looks, runs and drives great and has a generally unmolested and "put together" feel about it.

The Herbie livery always gets complements but is a vinyl applique and could be removed if you are less sartorially adventurous. For more information about this 1972 Volkswagen Squareback for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
