Vehicle Description
Following its purchase in 2005, this Thunderbird's transmission was
rebuilt, the correct radiator, gas tank and fuel lines were
installed and engine work was performed. Additionally the interior
was replaced to the correct black and white color scheme, original
seatbelts were added, the radio was replaced with an original Town
& Country radio, and the aftermarket soft-top was replaced with an
original convertible top and canvas, as was the jack. A Pertronix
electronic ignition system replaces the points in the distributor
and an AM/FM cassette is located out of view in the glove box.
Suspension upgrades include front and rear sway bars, new leaf
springs, bushings and shocks. This convertible is powered by a
292ci 8-cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. All
documentation of work dating back to 1994, along with the 2-barrel
intake and manifold, is included with the car. With air
conditioning, enhanced suspension and performance from the 4-barrel
carburetor and the reliability from the electronic ignition, this
T-Bird is one great cruiser.
