Rally Preparation Services is pleased to offer this ultra-reliable 1939 Chevrolet Coupe classic car for sale. This long-distance endurance rally car was built into a rally car by us in 2014 specifically for the 2016 Paris to Peking but of course suitable for a myriad of events.
The 1939 Chevrolet Coupe was one of the most important models in the Chevrolet line-up as they battled with Ford for market dominance. For 1939, Chevrolet revised the front grille with a more secure radiator fixing (great for rally cars) head lamps re-positioned on the front wings and a slightly larger rear cabin (also great for rally cars when luggage won’t fit in a boot full of spares).
The car, sourced and supplied through Rally Preparation Services in 2013, underwent a full strip to chassis and was built to a more conservative specification visually than one of our full Fangio cars but fundamentally with the same ingredients. Two shakedown rallies were completed, the 2014 Alpine Trial and the 2015 Road to Mandalay without drama by a novice crew resulting in a 6th place finish overall on the latter. In 2016, the crew finished the Peking to Paris which was their end goal and yielded 10th overall with Gold status, only awarded to cars that make it to every check point on time.
Rally Preparation Services is world renowned for the preparation of pre-war American cars for endurance rallying. If the car is to be kept in the UK, ongoing maintenance and storage can be maintained. The car is currently with RPS’ sister company - the SASCo storage facility and available for inspection by appointment.
