Vehicle Description
This 1971 FJ40 underwent a nut-and-bolt restoration that was
completed in 2017. It is powered by its original 3.9-liter F engine
mated to a 3-speed manual transmission which underwent a complete
overhaul along with the drivetrain. It retains its original Aisin
carburetor. It features electronic ignition, Land Cruiser power
brake conversion, front disc and rear drum, Old Man Emu suspension,
new Aisin hubs and outer Birfield axles, new and chromated fuel,
brake and clutch lines, chromated clamps, shrouds, protectors and
fasteners as original. Other significant features include new
electrical harness using new as original wire, terminals and plugs.
The instrument cluster was completely restored, all gauge faces
were redone. The gas tank was sealed with special epoxy sealer. New
as original, aluminum exhaust pipes and mufflers, hung properly
from the chassis and undercarriage. Included with the sale is the
vintage owner's manual along with copies of various Guatemalan
registrations. This vehicle underwent a 76-step inspection and
quality assurance process and its restoration took approximately
2,500 man-hours.
