Vehicle Description
Chevy was always big on special editions, and when they can tie it
in with NASCAR, it makes for a pretty special car. This 2004
Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Edition gives the
savvy NASCAR fan a chance to own a pretty cool piece of history and
with a supercharged engine, it's a lot of fun to drive.
When these cars hit dealer showrooms in 2004, they sold out almost
instantly, which tells you all you need to know about NASCAR fans
and their enthusiasm. Only 2883 were built, and they were all
pretty much identical to the one you see here: Victory Red paint,
special graphics, black ground effects package, and a rear spoiler.
Custom #8 badges leave no doubt as to who inspired the car and they
only came one way: loaded. With just 39,909 actual miles, this one
is in just the right condition to enjoy; not a 0-mile time capsule
and not a ragged-out used car, but one that will still inspire
complements at the local show and look great in your NASCAR-themed
garage. It has obviously been lovingly maintained by a guy who knew
it was special, because it's in great shape with only a few very
minor signs of use. The decals aren't faded by the sun, all the
unique Earnhardt special features are intact, and even the big
headlights remain crystal clear, a frequent problem on these cars.
You'll have to look pretty closely to find the flaws.
The interior got a lot of upgrades as part of the package, too:
Ebony leather buckets with custom embroidery, Dale Jr.'s signature
on the speedometer, special badges, embroidered floor mats, and
custom sill plates that match the side stripes. As with the
exterior, the interior is in nice shape with only a few signs of
use that are in line with the car's age and mileage. Thanks to
reliable Chevy engineering, everything works properly, including
the custom audio system that sounds spectacular. Features include
power everything, heated seats, a sunroof, dual-zone climate
control, cruise control, and a tilt steering column. A full array
of gauges seems well-suited to the sporting Monte Carlo and you'll
be surprised by how spacious the back seat is, even though it looks
like nobody's ever been back there. There's also a giant trunk,
making it easy to imagine pulling into the next NASCAR event behind
the wheel of this special Chevy.
This Monte Carlo is a mover, too, thanks to a supercharged 3.8
liter V6. Don't scoff, this powerplant makes more than 300 pounds
of torque, enough to spin the front tires at will and pull away
from some serious rear-wheel-drive muscle. It remains totally stock
and these are bulletproof reliable machines, so go ahead and
indulge on the next on-ramp, it doesn't mind. It has been properly
maintained, including the valve cover gasket recall, so it's ready
to enjoy immediately. It's backed by a 4-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive, so it's a fantastic highway cruiser. A
nice perk of the Monte Carlo platform is an all-independent
suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes, so it's capable and comfortable
at the same time, a great car for road trips. It's incredibly clean
underneath, more evidence that it's never been out in the weather,
and it looks fantastic sitting on those special edition 17-inch
wheels with Goodyear rubber.
Documented with the original window sticker, manuals, letters, and
receipts, this is a sure-fire future collectable that will make you
the star of the show with NASCAR fans. Call today!
