Vehicle Description
History
The 1936 Model 48 replaced the 40A with a lower body, the engine
and grille were pushed forward giving more room in the cabin. All
Ford cars were powered by the Flathead V8 that year. There were
still many body styles available, Flatback or Trunkback Sedans,
Tudor, Roadster, Phaeton, Woody Wagon, and 3 or 5 window
Coupes.
Why Is This Car Special
We have a 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe here at Skyway Classics that has
been made into a Street Rod. This one has the fundamental looks but
is modified to get you to the car shows in style.
Mechanical Specs
This street rod has been totally re-constructed with a custom
frame, custom Corvette type posi rear end, upgraded brakes and
suspension, as well as a modified 1962-1965 327 cubic inch small
block Chevrolet engine with the block stamping #3782870.
The 327 engine has performance intake and carb, chrome valve covers
and air cleaner, high performance electronics, and plug wires,
chrome alternator, air conditioning, custom fuel tank, and more.
The dual exhaust comes out the back into the dual system and chrome
tips. The coupe rides on custom wheels and good tires.
Interior
The interior looks nice with its the gray fabric and carpeting and
blue piping on both the front and rear seats. The steering wheel is
custom as well as the performance gauges in the body color blue
painted dash.
Exterior
The body and paint on this coupe is excellent in its blue shades
that grace the fenders and the vented hood and the trunk. Also the
great brightwork adds to the great look of the iconic body. And
ooooh....that grill! That is one of the most sought after looks
just like the 5-window body that makes this street rod.
