Vehicle Description
This Thunderbird convertible features an optional J-code, 430ci
engine with 350 factory horsepower from Ford. In 1959, only 1,168
performance J-code T-Birds were produced. This example has had a
stunning cosmetic restoration to its original Casino Cream exterior
with black power convertible top and black leather interior. This
matching-numbers J-code Thunderbird has many documents, including
those showing the original owner purchased the car new from the
legendary TASCA Ford and enjoyed it until 2002. This Thunderbird is
fully optioned with power windows, push-button-open rear deck and
power convertible top that disappears under the rear deck for a
classic smooth styling. Additional options include Kelsey
Hayes-type wire wheels with whitewall tires, dual side mirrors,
fender skirts, rear deck-mounted antenna, tinted glass and original
Ford Thunderbird 1959-style gauges with Magic-Aire heater. The
original Ford AM radio has been upgraded with an additional phone-
and CD-capable hidden unit. During the cosmetic restoration, the
interior, engine bay, mechanical parts and body were completed,
providing show-quality results that make this car easy to cruise
and enjoy with the upgrades. Additionally, a conversion to a dual
master cylinder was performed for safety and increased braking
performance. The engine was upgraded to a Mallory solid-state
ignition in the Ford distributor and a Holley carburetor. A great
luxury cruising car with power and timeless styling. From the John
Staluppi Cars of Dreams Collection.
