Originally owned by G.D.Gratsos S.A., later by George A. Gratsos Ph.D., shipowner and MIT engineer class of ’65 who personalized and upgraded it as hereunder:
Solex carbs replaced by a turbocharger fed by a Stromberg 175 carburetor.
Bonnet customized by specialist with air vents and blister to make room for this modification.
Front brakes converted from drum to disc (MB 280SL). 16BBS type alloy wheels with 205/55 x 16 tyres.
Center console with additional instruments.
Handmade wood rim steering wheel.
Leather interior trim and Recaro seats with headrests. 4 point seatbelts. The car was never raced!
Period “racing” wing mirrors.
Marchal fog lights on bumper.
Silver red and navy blue paint scheme to owner’s design.
Wind screen pillars repainted to match color scheme.
Original license plate was BO-7706 Gr returned to the state on being laid up for tax reasons.

The original brakes and steering accessories, Becker radio, amplifier and speakers, seat belts, steering wheel, intake manifold, Solex carburetors, their aluminum intake duct and hardtop have been stored and are available. The car was regularly driven to about 1990 when it was laid up and kept in the heated garage of the present owner’s house. Now it is regularly driven as allowed for antique cars in Greece.
All above as well as the car’s service were undertaken by the VIAMAX and MERSER Mercedes Benz concession and various specialists.
